Just Watched Doctor Who: “The Christmas Invasion”

First, let’s get something out of the way.  I really, really, really miss Christopher Eccleston.

Now, “The Christmas Invasion”.

I’m warming up to David Tennant-oh wait, did he just quote The Lion King?  I’m done warming up to him.  (I love The Lion King an irrational amount.)

It annoyed me a bit that everyone was so dependent on the Doctor.  My irritation was especially pointed at Rose because she’d traveled with him.  All that traveling should have taught her something.  I mean, what’s going to happen to the universes if the Doctor’s not there?  Shouldn’t people be able to save/help themselves?

“Is that the kind of man I am now?  Am I rude?  Rude and not ginger?”  You also are best friends with Jackie now.  Is it because she made you that cup of tea that revived you so that you could save the world?  That might be it.

I *need* you to *shut up*!”
Oooh, he hasn’t changed that much, has he?”  haha

There were other funny things and things I enjoyed in “The Christmas Invasion”, but these are the main things.

Also:

In a larger scope, this special also explores what the Universe would be like without the Doctor’s random interventions. I suppose the thought never really crossed my mind, but this show presents the idea that there is probably not a living thing that has affected the entire universe in a more positive manner than the Doctor. Is he bigger than Jesus. Wait, has there been an episode where the Doctor meets Jesus or do the writers generally thinkhey we’d like to keep our viewers and not piss off the entire world. These are my thoughts. I am sharing them with you.”-Mark Oshiro
